CMC Radio offers music radio and remote broadcast programming consultation to a wide range of Gulf Coast Radio Stations. Our History

As a little historical perspective, I'm an alumnus of Texas A&M and Columbia School of Broadcasting. I started 35 years ago at KGBC Galveston Radio, and worked under Vandy Anderson and Woody Carson. I became General Sales Manager and Music Director, and founded CMC Communications in 1992. At that time, Former Houston Oiler Head Football Coach Ed Biles and I teamed up and we have worked together presenting The Houston Post Poat-Game Scoreboard Show plus the High School Football Game of the Week at AM 1230 KNUZ Houston Radio throughout the 1990's. The last seven years we have been broadcasting high school football games on AM 950 KPRC Houston; AM Sportstalk 790 KBME Houston, and AM 1560 KGOW Houston Radio.

Online Radio is Growing

We have observed in the last two years that more and more folk were turning away from terrestrial radio in many aspects, and becoming accustomed to listening to on demand audio shows; sports games; music, and download feature events on their IPhone or Android phones, and indeed through applications downloaded on these devices. In a very functional way, your smart phone is very much today, what a Transistor Radio was 55 years ago on the beach! Only that our broadcasts can now be heard on the Moon!

Founding CMC Radio

So the decision to found CMC Radio was undertaken. And you know what, we have been able to quantify more than 200,000 phone app downloads of the radio station worldwide. We can calculate up to as many as more than 56,000 listeners for each of our ball game broadcasts, with periodic spikes up to 82,000. Our special old time radio shows have also shown thousands ISP listening sessions over the next month. While I will live and die an old traditional terrestrial radio man my friend, I will tell you that our listening audience in so any qualifiable contexts is much greater now than it has ever been on any previous terrestrial radio station.

Best Staff in Broadcasting

Our staff is the best in broadcasting. Dave Biondi, our Operations Manager, built or rebuilt and maintained KTRH; KPRC; KTSU; KNUZ, and KQUE Houston Radio stations, and is one of the best producers and vocal talents in the country. The Late Great Former Houston Oiler Head Coach Ed Biles had been an NFL Coach. He started in 1969 with Weeb Eubanks and the New York Jets and was the Defensive Co-ordinator for the World Champion Jets that year with Joe Namath as Quarterback. For twenty years, Coach Biles honored me as my color commentator on our high school sports broadcasts, and we worked together as a broadcast team since 1998. I have known Coach Biles as a colleague since my days at the old KGBC Radio in Galveston in the 1980's as a young deejay though!
